Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of Rise of the Ronin? One thrilling mission you’ll encounter is A Crackdown on Bad Business, set in the bustling and vibrant Kyoto of 1865. In this blog post, we’ll break down everything you need to know to successfully complete this mission and unlock some cool rewards! 🌟

What is A Crackdown on Bad Business?

In this mission, you’ll discover that a shady merchant is up to no good. Your goal is to gather evidence and reveal his dishonest dealings. Before jumping into action, let’s go over what you need to do.

Objectives Breakdown

1. Strengthen Your Bond with the Higashiyama Area

To get started, you need to increase your bond with the Higashiyama area. How can you do this? Here are some fun ways:

   - Complete Public Orders: Help the citizens with their requests.

   - Visit Landmarks: Explore interesting locations in Higashiyama.

   - Catch Fugitives: Find and bring back any criminals hiding in the area.

By doing these activities, you will earn more bond points with Higashiyama, allowing you to unlock the mission.

2. Take a Photograph of the Transaction

Here’s where things get tricky! You have two main ways to approach this task:

   - Method 1: Go In All Guns Blazing! 💥

You can choose to defeat the six enemies lurking around the merchant's house first. After clearing them out, take a photograph of the shady merchant handing money to the thugs. This method gets the job done, but it might not get you the best rewards.

   - Method 2: Stealth Mode Activated 🥷

If you prefer being sneaky, move quietly behind the house. There’s an enemy on the right, so take him out silently first. This way, when you take the photograph, you can unlock optional rewards. Be careful not to trigger any alarms! If the rival merchant hears you, he'll come out, but you'll need to stay hidden to unlock the optional objectives.

Optional Objectives

These objectives depend on how you choose to play:

- Defeat the Rival Merchant and Thugs (Optional)

If you sneak around and manage to photograph the merchant without alerting anyone, you can then confront him if you wish. However, if you go in alerting everyone and break into the house, fighting becomes mandatory.

- Take a Photograph of the Rival Merchant (Optional)

Similar to the last objective, taking a stealth picture gives you the chance for extra rewards. If you do it well, you can snap a picture of the rival merchant without creating a fuss! 📸

How the Rewards Work

Once you’ve captured the evidence and reported back:

- You’ll receive 2200 sen and 12000 EXP! This will give you a fantastic boost to your abilities.

- Plus, you’ll get some excellent items, such as a Foreign Book, a Plum Blossom Scroll for remodeling, and Western Cigars.

- Bonus: You can earn extra silver coins if you complete the optional objectives correctly!

Dialogue & Choices

The interactions with the merchant are vital in this mission. Here’s how a typical exchange might go:

Merchant: "Lately, thugs have been harassing my shop and scaring customers away. Rumour has it they're being hired by my rival, but I don't have proof..."

You: (Choose your response) "Sure, I'll take care of it." or "You'll have to ask someone else."

Going with the first option will get the mission rolling!

Conclusion

Rise of the Ronin pulls you into a world of mystery, action, and decision-making. Completing the mission A Crackdown on Bad Business isn’t just about taking a snapshot; it’s about how you choose to play the game. Whether you opt for a stealthy approach or a full-on brawl, remember that each choice can lead to different outcomes and rewards. Good luck out there, and may your adventure be full of excitement! 🥳
